Everything you need to know
Why attend a writing retreat?
Our writing retreats will help you complete your writing projects by providing distraction free space and time. A lot of writers struggle to carve out time for writing amongst competing priorities. Attending a writing retreat can counter these barriers. You'll also learn about how to optimise your personal writing behaviours as well as get some social support which can make all the difference!
Writing retreat structure
Our retreats use the structure similar to that developed by Professor Rowena Murray. This includes time to plan, set and review writing goals, a warm-up exercise, some tips for writing as well as the writing sessions themselves and generous breaks for the body and the brain! Getting the best out of our retreats
Our writing retreats work best when writers come prepared to focus on writing. This can be at any stage in your writing progress (including not starting at all!) but coming prepared will really help to make the most of your day with us. Our venues
We have chosen our venues for their inspiring coastal locations, inviting work spaces, food, and accessibility. As part of our writing retreat structure we also allow time for some physical activity and each venue offers several options.
